Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Brent Wodicka

As Chief Technology Officer at AIS, Brent Wodicka leads the company’s overarching technology vision and strategy. In his role, Brent continues to drive technological innovation, ensuring the development and implementation of advanced solutions that enhance business and mission outcomes for AIS customers. His leadership is instrumental in fostering the growth of technical talent across the organization.

Brent’s career trajectory began as a software developer during the dot com boom, evolving into a seasoned leader in the IT consulting industry. After earning his BA from James Madison University, Brent ventured into the tech world with a small company and later a major defense contractor. These roles honed his technical and leadership skills, which he brought to AIS in 2007 as a Software Engineer within the Federal Practice. His ambition for impactful work and meaningful client engagements led him to take on a variety of roles at AIS, building a robust and diverse skill set.

In 2012, Brent began collaborating closely with then-AIS CTO, Vishwas Lele, enhancing the company’s Microsoft Azure capabilities. His expertise in cloud architecture and leadership in pivotal Azure projects for both commercial and federal clients laid the groundwork for the company’s future. Brent’s work with our India-based team on a large Azure project for an insurance client solidified his reputation as a team-oriented leader comfortable working with global teams. The skills he honed there were later applied to a Department of Defense project, integrating commercial cloud innovations into the federal government.

By 2019, Brent had helped establish the Office of the CTO program at AIS and pioneered the Solution Teams initiative, leading groups across six technical capability areas and ensuring AIS stays at the forefront of technology enablement.

Brent’s commitment to his field is evident through various technical certifications and his active participation in industry communities, including Microsoft’s Partner Advisory Councils. This engagement keeps him at the cutting edge of technology and business strategy. His commitment to continuous learning and excellence is underscored by his MBA from Virginia Tech.

Outside of his AIS role, Brent enjoys outdoor activities like hiking and fly fishing, alongside participation in his children’s sports. His latest pursuit of private aviation reflects his love for challenges and personal growth. Inspired by his wife’s artistic perspective, Brent balances his technological pursuits with creativity and family life in the DC metro area.
