U.S. Military Branch Seeks and Finds Expert Enterprise Guidance
A branch of the U.S. military was seeking enterprise-level IT as a Service that would be extensible to the entire branch while supporting individual bases across the map. They issued a multilegged Other Transactional Authority (OTA) contract to address different workstreams within the larger effort—including Networking, Compute & Store, and UXEnterprise Service Desk—with each workstream serving as a pathfinder project to encourage innovation. Using an OTA contract was a surprising decision for a governmental agency, but it helped them move quickly and divide the work fairly among multiple partners across the industry. AIS was brought in to lead Azure delivery.
End of Life SharePoint 2010 Migration Brings an IT Service Provider in the Future
A U.S. Military IT Service Provider was quickly approaching the End of Life for SharePoint 2010 and needed support to promptly plan and execute a migration to a SharePoint 2019 on-premises environment, ensuring minimal customer interruption. AIS used AvePoint’s DocAve Migration Tool to directly migrate the large SharePoint 2010 on-premises farm to SharePoint 2019 on-premises, ensuring a direct migration not natively supported by Microsoft. We also used extensions and Webparts to customize and create collections for their intranet site.
Modernizing Applications and Business Processes with Power Platform
The government agency needed a central way to track and provide visibility to run its supervision and record-tracking system. They operated in siloed legacy systems and needed a modern, scalable solution. We created a cloud-based data platform around the Azure SQL Managed Instance database. We modernized the agency’s most complex app to a production-ready 6-module canvas app, created with Power Apps to collect data to streamline case processes.
